Man charged with firearms offences over gun in garden

A man has been charged with firearms offences after a National Crime Agency (NCA) appeal for information.

Dean Anthony Kirby, 30, originally from Stretford, Manchester, was arrested by Greater Manchester Police officers on Sunday night.

The NCA issued an appeal for information last week following the discovery of a handgun in a garden where children had been playing.

Kirby was yesterday charged with possession of a Makarov firearm, possession of ammunition and possession of a silencer.

He will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday 29 May).
