YPO on track for world-leading accreditation

YPO is on track to receive accreditation for the leading international standard for information security management.

The ISO 27001 standard is recognised worldwide as proof that an organisation aligns with best practice when it comes to protecting and safeguarding the data it handles. This is crucial to guard against vulnerabilities and threats such as data breaches and cyber-attacks.

To receive the accreditation, organisations must pass a two-stage audit. YPO passed the first stage of the process in February with flying colours.

“The auditor was very complimentary about YPO as a business and said we had a very comprehensive quality management system with key processes and procedures documented,” said Sammy Rockett-Miller, quality assurance and compliance manager at YPO, one of the UK’s biggest public buying organisations. “We have been approved to proceed to the stage two audit with no identified non-conformities.”

YPO’s stage two assessment will take place in May, with success leading to the award of the ISO 27001 standard.

The organisation is also aiming for the ISO9001 quality accreditation, to add to its existing environmental management and health and safety accreditations. These voluntary standards bring benefits for businesses including increased efficiency and productivity, greater customer trust and the fostering of a stronger work culture when working to recognised standards.
