Civil Service Digital Secondments Programme

The Civil Service would love to hear from tech companies both large and small who can help shape the future of the UK's digital services.

The Civil Service recently launched their Digital Secondments Programme, calling on the UK’s best technical minds from industry to work with Government on the biggest challenges facing the country, such as cyber security and new emerging technologies. This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses large and small to build key strategic partnerships focusing on key digital skill sets. The scheme covers the whole of the civil service and currently there are secondment opportunities in many departments, both large and small.

The programme has developed swiftly, working across new government departments with various organisational partners. The opportunities are focused on senior Civil Service roles, such as Senior Technical Architect and Chief Data Officer, and are pivotal to the government’s delivery of its unique, large-scale digital services.

Although most roles are full time and long term (6-12 months) there is sometimes the option for a part time or job share agreement where the secondee works 2-3 days per week in the Civil Service and the remainder at their usual post.

Does your business have  suitable qualified senior professionals who could bring a new and innovative approach to the Civil Service?

If you do then great, but also if you would just like to find out more information about how this can work for both career development and private/public sector partnerships then get in touch! The Civil Service would love to talk and welcome tech companies both large and small who can help shape the future of the UK's digital services.
