Ministry of Defence publishes modern slavery statement

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is committed to playing its part in the eradication of modern slavery.

Following the publication of the first UK Government Modern Slavery Statement in March 2020, the MOD has on 25th November 2021 published its first annual departmental Modern Slavery Statement. The statement provides more granular detail about the actions the department has taken during the financial year to tackle modern slavery in MOD operations and supply chains, and allows the public to see how we are implementing anti-slavery policies, mitigating risks and tracking progress.

The statement outlines the initial steps we have taken to prevent modern slavery in defence supply chains and to be transparent about the areas where we need our suppliers to improve. We have also set ourselves goals and will report back in 2022 with our progress.

The statement can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/ministry-of-defence/about/modern-slavery-statement
