Change of Her Majesty's British Consul-General in New York

Following an open competition, Sir Alan Collins KCVO CMG has been appointed British Consul-General in New York in succession to Sir Phillip Thomas KCVO CMG who will be retiring from the Diplomatic Service. Sir Alan will also be Director General for Trade and Investment in America and will take up his new appointment in January 2007.
